Tanning Tip

For those of you who know me, or for those of you who have seen pictures of me, I am super ghostly white.  I don’t tan well.  I burn, which isn’t very healthy anyway, and then go right back to white again.  Every year my sister and I get spray tans because we hate to go to Florida for vacation looking like that, but it never lasts and, let’s face it, those mystic tan boxes FREAK ME OUT!  Have you guys seen the Friends episode where Ross gets a spray tan and he keeps getting sprayed on the front half of him?  So that’s pretty much my biggest fear and I’m always worried about breathing it in and poisoning myself and dying.  But anyway….. more about my psychosis another time!

My favorite fitness celebrity, and yours, Chalene Johnson posted about Loreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee.  Considering I’ve tried my fair amount of tanning products, I thought I’d pick a bottle of this stuff up.  It proved harder to find than I thought and when I did find it (at Walgreens I believe), I grabbed both of the remaining 2 bottles.  I thought, “If Chalene says it’s good, I don’t want to miss out!”  I’m so glad I grabbed both bottles!

First off, a gel like this goes on soooooo much more easily than a lotion.  I could not even believe it!  It didn’t run or streak at all.  It started developing within the first hour and continued for several hours after.  It looked so natural that, if I wasn’t me, I would have sworn I had been tanning out in the sun.  Now, the smell.  Well, it does smell.  They all smell.  But, let me tell you, I’ve definitely smelled worse!  I think it’s totally tolerable.

So there’s my little tip from one ghostly girl to another!  🙂
