Day 2
I woke up today feeling okay. I’m still dealing with some caffeine withdrawls and have a slight headache. The water and supplements went down easier in the morning than the first day so I’m happy about that. I’m down 0.5 pounds and just so you know I’m short- 5ft 2 (and three quarters, thank you very much) so half a pound is a lot. I’m working on getting a good morning routine down so today I took my supplements, then took Draco for his morning walk and came back to prepare breakfast. That worked pretty well so I’m going to stick with that- I felt more like I had a good schedule down.
Breakfast was one of my favorites- steel cut oatmeal with berries and organic non-fat plain yogurt sweetened with a little raw honey. I believe the guide calls for blueberries, but they are SO expensive here so we opted for raspberries instead and they were VERY yummy! A breakfast like this is something I’m totally used to so it made me really happy to have some normalcy this morning. I really am a creature of habit so this fed into my usual routine. I don’t think that’s going to continue much longer though- haha!
Again today I’m not feeling as productive as usual and I really don’t think I got as much done as I would on a typical Thursday. I didn’t stare blankly at my computer today so I’m taking that as a positive! I’m also feeling a little achy today, but that was something I expected with everything going on inside.
Another round of supplements and 30 minutes later and it was time for lunch. This time it was a Greek salad with chicken on top. Sorry, this is mine before I cut it. Now, there is a recipe for a Greek Dressing in the guide book, buuuuuut we love that Creamy Garlic Dressing so much that we just used that again- especially since it made so many servings. But that means I have no review on the Greek Dressing so if you try it, let me know how it is and if it stacks up to the Creamy Garlic!
Second day of Alkalanize and I decided to just not taste it- I mixed it with 6 ounces of water and just sucked it out. That worked pretty well. I think I was over the shock of it, so it wasn’t AS bad today, but it’s definitely a different flavor. Today I did TurboFire’s Abs 10- I have to keep my core strengthened for my back so I thought that would be a good option. I didn’t need a snack today since the salad was soooo big!
Dinner tonight was black beans and rice on a 6-inch corn tortilla with guacamole and steamed kale with pine nuts. Being from New Mexico- beans and rice is something I’m totally familiar with and these were seasoned with Liquid Aminos.
Okay, let me take a second and talk about Liquid Aminos- these are THE BOMB! I absolutely am in love with them! They taste just like soy sauce but are soooo much healthier and so much less sodium- there’s actual nutrients in it! I am a total convert!
So back to dinner, now the picture showed little tacos, but I took the corn tortilla and crisped it up in the oven like a tostada instead. Men are allowed 2 tortillas so I crisped 2 up for Neil. This was a DELICIOUS dinner! I loved it!
So thoughts at the end of day 2…. feeling a little less out of it today, but still not quite myself. I am still feeling a little sleepy during the day which I think has a lot to do with cutting out the caffeine. I’m drinking a ton of water because I’m drinking what I normally do and then drinking extra with the supplements 4 times a day. So basically what I’m saying is I’m peeing every 30 minutes- haha!
I’m so ready for Day 3– they say it’s one of the hardest, but I’m up for the challenge!
