Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset: Day 16

Today, I woke up 1 more pound down, wide awake, alert and ready to rock the day! Well…. until I took Draco for his morning walk and it was freakin’ freezing! That generally bums me out anyway, but I might reach for something like oatmeal for breakfast and soup for lunch, you know? I wanted those warm foods that aren’t even necessarily bad for you, but help warm you from the inside and in my near future today was Shakeology and salad- both very cold items! The other thing I might normally turn to is exercise… again…. a no go on the Reset. It was a real struggle. It’s probably the closest I’ve come to really wanting to just throw in the towel and have some flippin’ oatmeal! But…. I didn’t. I gathered up my self-control and whatever positivity I had in me and decided on…. RETAIL THERAPY!

Imagine my delight to discover that the Seattle area has a DSW! I needed shoes for my sister’s wedding next week and I have been having THE hardest time finding EXACTLY what I wanted online. Now, let me tell you, there are plenty of shoes that I WANT online and you know, in the next month I’ll probably buy for another event, BUT I needed something really specific for this, so…. off I went. I also went to Target (very dangerous) and bought some stuff for other people which always makes me feel better.

Here’s what was really awesome- when I came out of the store, the sun was out and it was much warmer! Crisis averted- just needed to get out of my routine a little and give the sun a little time to shine!

So I already spilled the beans- Tropical Strawberry Shakeology for breakfast today and Microgreen Salad for lunch. You’ve seen both before. 🙂 Both are delicious, so don’t get me wrong with my above rant, it was just one of those days and at Day 16 of having such a regimented schedule, I think I’m allowed a little freak-out. I even had a snack today- peanut butter and celery sticks which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Dinner tonight was something I was actually looking forward to for a couple reasons- first is that I LOVE cauliflower and we haven’t had any yet during the Reset, the second is that it sounded super interesting- Curry Cauliflower! Accompanying it was Lemon Pepper Kale (which we had previously on the night of the less favored Succotash night) and then 1/2 cup of Brown Rice. The rice was optional but we opted to have a grain tonight- it seemed unnecessary with the HUGE baked sweet potato we had last night, but tonight we enjoyed the rice with the cauliflower. It’s an okay recipe though I’d almost rather eat steamed cauliflower on its own. Not bad though!

So a little bit of a rough start to my day today, but it all ended up okay and I feel much better now as I’m writing this. It’s all a process, you know? And I knew that before jumping in, but today was quite possibly one of the tougher days so far for me. It’s all down hill from here- we’ve got 5 more days left and we’re nearing that finish line! Ready to get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed for Day 17!!
