Yes, I don’t think there could be any more perfect pairing than these two things. One is delicious, chocolately (or fruity), creamy, nutritious, chocked full of vitamins, and an overall miracle beverage. The other is a booty-kicking, strength training, get you ripped exercise program guaranteed to give you the hot body you’ve always wanted. The two go so perfectly together that I do NOT recommend doing the second without the first.
You may have guessed that I’m talking about P90x and Shakeology.
When you’re going through an exercise program, such as P90x, it’s so important to make a commitment both to the program and to your nutrition. The only way that you’re going to see the BEST, maximum results is if you do this. (As an aside, I must say that Beachbody does an AMAZING job of including recipes that are both easy and tasty so you don’t miss the bad stuff quite as much as you would anticipate. Eventually, you don’t miss it at all… but I digress.)
Let’s face it, dining out (or ordering in) get expensive and can totally set you back in your fitness and weight loss process. This was a HUGE problem for me. Every city has its own niche, but, man, Seattle has some AMAZING restaurants and I was completely swept into the whole thing. When my waistline, and wallet, saw changes, I knew it was time to MAKE some changes. Don’t get me wrong, I had always been drinking Shakeology, but this was about drinking it strategically.
So how does this tie into P90x? I promise I’m getting there!
I was always a drink my Shakeology after my workout kinda person. It worked well for me and I still enjoy doing that…. on days I’m NOT going out for dinner. If I find myself, as I seem to often do, in a situation where dining out is inevitable, I drink my Shakeology about half an hour to an hour before going out. That way I don’t overindulge on the unhealthy foods so that helps my waistline AND I can usually just get a small plate, appetizer or side so I’m saving money at the same time! This is the way to do it, people!
I say all this because so often we do a workout and wonder why we aren’t getting the results we want. We eat well all week and have one cheat day, but that cheat day can do more harm than we originally realize. I’m not saying don’t have one by any means, but what I am saying is that after your cheat day, you may have many days of workouts to do to make up for it. If you can cut some of those excess calories out by drinking something that’s healthy, low in calories (140), low on the glycemic index (24), gluten free, has all your veggies, and keeps you full, you are going to help wipe out those cheat calories sooo much more quickly. The honest truth- it’s going to help you break that plateau of weight loss you’ve had and it’s going to give you the MAXIMUM results with P90x.
Okay, I’m stepping off my soap box, but seriously, people, THIS is how you get healthy- you put the BEST, most nutritious ingredients in your body and you consistently follow a workout routine.
Thanks Heather! Great information
